Video: St. Vincent – “Masseduction”

St. Vincent has released a hypnotic new music video for her song “Masseduction,” off her 2017 album of the same name. The visual takes its cues from St. Vincent’s evocative lyrics, combining violence and sex in a montage of nuclear test footage.

Last night, “Masseduction” earned St. Vincent and Jack Antonoff a Grammy in the Best Rock Song category. MASSEDUCTION was also nominated for the Best Rock Album Grammy, but, in one of the night’s more aggravating upsets, lost out to From The Fires by Greta Van Fleet. St. Vincent later performed the song with Dua Lipa at the main Grammys show. “Masseduction” was part of a three-song medley that also included Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris’ “One Kiss,” along with “Respect,” popularized by Aretha Franklin.

In addition to releasing MASSEDUCTION last year, St. Vincent put out a companion project called MassEducation, featuring acoustic, piano-centric versions of tracks from that album. She’s gearing up for a big 2019, too, having recently teased production work on new music from Sleater Kinney. Catch her this Valentine’s Day at The Appel Room in New York City, or at Lollapalooza in Buenos Aires and Santiago in late March. Watch the new music video for “Masseduction” below.
