Spotify is teaming up with Berklee College of Music and Electric Lady Studios to host a new residency for emerging female producers and engineers called the Equal (EQL) Studio Residency Program. The six-month paid programs will take place in New York, Nashville, and London, allowing one participant in each city to learn their way around Spotify’s studios while honing their production skills. The residency kicks off this October 1 with an application deadline August 24. Earlier this month, the company announced plans to introduce an ad-skipping option to its free tier and was recently under fire regarding to right wing media host Alex Jones.
