God Bless Sisqo for Performing “Thong Song” at His Own Wedding Reception

Though he may live forever in our minds as someone who indulges freely in every booty available to him, Sisqo has been a family man for some time. On Friday, the ’90s R&B hitmaker and thong songwriter made it official, tying the knot with his longtime partner and the mother of his children at a ceremony in Minneapolis. And if you think for a second that he didn’t perform his own immortal ode to dumps like a truck, truck, truck, at the reception, you’ve got another thing coming, buddy.

The Baltimore Sun, Sisqo’s hometown paper, says it “obtained footage” of him singing “Thong Song” at the party, which was apparently too scandalous to publish online. We’ll have to settle for imagining the “lively choreographed rendition,” or just watching the music video and assuming it looked exactly like that. (Hopefully there were blacklights, or at least a white vest.) When contacted by the paper, Sisqo gave the following statement:

“I initially sang ‘Thong Song’ about the first thong that I ever saw, so it was only right to sing it about the last one I will ever see… in private, that is,” Sisqo stated in an email to The Baltimore Sun, with directions to “insert wink.”

If that isn’t romance I don’t know what is. We wish Sisqo and his new wife happiness in all their future endeavors.
