Emo kids never die and neither will Fall Out Boy who dropped their newest EP Lake Effect Kid via Island Records. The group announced the release on Twitter dedicating the songs to their hometown of Chicago and their upcoming show at Wrigley Field. “This city made us – raised us – it means the world to come back home like this. This EP 3 show are our love letter to this city, forever yours.” Following January’s full-length Mania, the EP has three songs “Lake Effect Kid,” “City in a Garden,” and “Super Fade” the first of which was a demo on their 2008 release CitizensFOB Mixtape: Welcome to the New Administration.
This isn’t the band’s only recent release, collaborating with New York singer/rapper Princess Nokia on a set of remixes for their single “The Last of the Real Ones” off Mania earlier this month which will begin its tour run August 24 in England and end in New Orleans on October 10.
