Interpol – “Number 10″

It’s been several weeks since Interpol released a song from their upcoming Dave Fridmann-produced album Marauder, with first single “The Rover” leading the charge in early June. They have also been playing “Now You See Me at Work” live, alongside deep cuts like “Pioneer to the Falls” from Our Love to AdmireNow, the group has released a second single, titled “Number 10.”

The first half-minute of the song features a 12/8 intro from guitarist Daniel Kessler, before turning into a conventional, if hard-edged rock song, with Sam Fogarino’s stellar drumming and Paul Banks’s typically oblique lyrics. “Your secret’s safe here / It’ll never leave / It’s in the basement for ya, na’mean?” he asks. Listen for yourself below.
