Watch Video From the First Smashing Pumpkins Reunion Show

Reunited Smashing Pumpkins Play The Troubadour

On Wednesday night, the mostly reunited Smashing Pumpkins took the stage at The Troubadour in Los Angeles ahead of the band’s long-awaited reunion tour. The gig marked the first time Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin shared a stage in almost 18 years. Special guest Davey Havok from AFI joined the band during the encore for a cover of Joy Division’s “Transmission.”

Speaking of Joy Division, judging from video that emerged from what was supposed to be a cellphone-free performance, Jack Hook, Joy Division and New Order founder Peter Hook’s son, joined Smashing Pumpkins on bass, replacing original member D’arcy Wretzky.

According to the setlist, the show was heavy on the ’90s hits, as promised. From Stereogum:
