The Lonely Island to Perform Rare Live Show

The Lonely Island to Perform Live in Pasadena

Fans of the excellent comedy troupe the Lonely Island who happen to reside in Southern California can rejoice as Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer have announced an extremely rare live show set to take place this weekend. The comedy-rap goofballs are scheduled to headline Comedy Central and Superfly’s Clusterfest in San Francisco next month, but they apparently can’t wait to get in front of an audience. This Sunday (May 27), the guys are performing at what they’re billing as “the first ever warm up show for our first ever concert” in Pasadena.

Here’s hoping they play some material from the trio’s mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,  depicting the meteoric rise of the Justin Bieber-style singer Connor4Real, as played by Samberg. They’re not at a loss for setlist fodder, however, considering the guys have already put out three full length albums. Four if you include the Popstar soundtrack. Check out the show poster below.
