Last night, Lauryn Hill performed at the Apollo Theater in New York. During her performance of the classic song “Ex-Factor,” Hill decided to cut the music off and switch into the beat for Drake‘s current hit “Nice For What.” The song famously uses a sped up version of “Ex-Factor” as its main sample, and Hill clearly appreciates the homage enough to use it for herself. As the instrumental is playing, Lauryn Hill raps over it, “See this is ‘Ex-Factor’/He took the sample/My shit is classic/Here’s an example,” as the chorus before getting into a freestyle.
