Former Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight finally has a trial date for the 2015 murder charge against him, the Los Angeles Times reports. Knight was charged after allegedly being involved in the hit-and-run death of a man named Terry Carter near the set of a promotional shoot for the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. The trial, now reported to begin September 24th, has faced a number of setbacks since the original start date of January 8, 2018 was pushed back after two of Knight’s former attorneys (Thaddeus Culpepper and Matthew Fletcher) were indicted for conspiracy to commit bribery. Knight will now have a court-appointed lawyer, who, as reported by the New York Daily News, will be the 16th attorney he’s had over the course of this case.
