Chic founder and legendary producer Nile Rodgers posted some rather unusual in-studio footage to his Facebook last night–that is, a video of him writhing on the floor in pain immediately after tripping down a staircase in his studio and breaking his nose. Surrounded by blood, and holding paper towels to his nose and groaning, Rodgers takes a moment to comment on the situation: “I guess that’s what you call a slip-and-falling day.”
As a clip to share across all of his social media platforms, it’s a pretty strange choice to say the least. Luckily, the man who wrote “Le Freak” seems to be okay, having followed up his initial post with a gentle request for fans and friends: “MY FAULT: THX 4 THE LUV BUT Please stop calling me so I can heal…The human body is a magnificent machine and I’m healing well after my horrible fall. Let me sleep.” Watch the clip below, if you somehow have the desire to.

Sometime I assume too much. Here: I have a foldable ice pack and have already stopped the bleeding. When I arrived at the hospital the Dr. said, “I did everything right.” I’m going to be fine even w the broken nose. pic.twitter.com/yeOFdvJXN5
