Following in the footsteps of Fiona Apple and Elvis Costello, The Killers payed homage to the late, great Fats Domino during their set last night at the Voodoo Music Festival in Fats’ hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. Frontman Brandon Flowers fondly recalls family car rides spent listening to the oldies, with a special fondness for the late singer, who died last week at the the age of 89: “When Fats Domino came on, we always turned it up.” The band then launches into a soulful rendition of his 1955 hit, “Ain’t That A Shame,” backed by a brass band.
