Watch a Trailer for the New Morrissey Biopic England Is Mine

The Morrissey of 2017 isn’t great, so why not celebrate the days when he was? There’s a new trailer for a Morrissey biopic, England Is Mine, that you can watch. It comes from the producer of the 2007 Ian Curtis movie Control, and it follows the headstrong, pre-Smiths young writer Morrissey in the late 1970s, including when he meets Johnny Marr and decides that the idea of forming a band is a good idea. “Do you ever think if you woke up and tried just a little bit harder you could have gone down in history?” he (played by Jack Lowden) wonders in voiceover. The film is directed by relative newcomer Mark Gill, and co-stars Jessica Brown Findlay of Downton Abbey fame. Watch below, courtesy of The Guardian.
