Chris Cornell’s Audioslave Bandmates Gave a Poignant Tribute in Concert Last Night

At a show in Berlin last night, the instrumentalists of Prophets of Rage performed “Like A Stone,” their biggest hit as Audioslave, the supergroup formed after the breakups of Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden. Rather than finding a vocalist to fill in for the late Chris Cornell, as they did with Serj Tankinan of System of a Down at another German show earlier this week, the band trained a spotlight at an empty microphone and played the song instrumental. The crowd at the show stepped up and “sang beautifully,” according to a tweet from Audioslave/Rage guitarist Tom Morello.

As the Associated Press notes, at least one fan caught footage of the poignant singalong tribute. Watch it below via Instagram.
