The Shins‘ new album Heartworms isn’t out until next Friday, but you can hear almost half of the 11 tracks already: “Dead Alive,” “Name for You,” “The Fear,” “Mildenhall,” and, today, “Painting a Hole.” It’s a big, day-glo thumper one might not peg for a Shins track right away, if it weren’t for James Mercer’s voice.
