Following his death on Saturday, Chuck Berry’s family has revealed new information about his as-of-yet-unreleased final album via his Facebook page. On his 90th birthday last October, Berry announced that he would be releasing a new album, Chuck, on the Nashville indie label Dualtone Records this year. According to the statement from Berry’s family this morning, the album–Berry’s first since 1979’s Rockit–is still coming out, and they are planning to release “further details and music” from the album this week.

“While our hearts are very heavy at this time, we know that Chuck had no greater wish than to see this album released to the world, and we know of no better way to celebrate and remember his 90 years of life than through his music,” the statement reads.

No word yet on an exact release date for the full LP, but looks like we can expect it soon, as promised. Tell Tchaikovsky the news.
