Drive, the Wachowskis’s movie of Speed Racer, and the video for Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up” video are just some of the visual reference points for the Weeknd’s new video for “Party Monster.” The song is one of several Top 40-charting tracks from the singer’s November album Starboy, and features Lana del Rey on backing vocals (though she is not among the group of strobe-illuminated women cut briefly and anonymously into the visuals). The dizzying clip comes courtesy of direction team BRTHR.
Though the video is a bit risqué, it’s worth noting that it’s not outright NSFW like the Abel’s September-released “Starboy” clip. Watch the “Party Monster” video below.
