The National, Common to Play Planned Parenthood Benefit in D.C. During Inauguration Weekend

On the Friday before Donald Trump’s inauguration, The National and Common will perform at a benefit for Planned Parenthood at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club.

“Women should be able to make their own decisions about their bodies and health. This is a basic human right, and we’re at the very beginning of a long and tough battle to defend these basic rights,” The National lead singer Matt Berninger said in a press release. “A concert in DC, inspiring people to take action, seems like a pretty good way to kick it off.”

The benefit, called Show Up!, will be hosted by Monica Simpson, the Executive Director of SisterSong, the National Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective. A limited number of tickets will be available free of charge via partnering organizations. A poster with more information is embedded below.
