Rising Philly R&B singer PnB Rock’s second Atlantic Records-backed project, Goin Thru the Motions, is due out on Friday (Jan 13). Today, he’s released “Hanging Up My Jersey,” the fourth advance track from the album—it’s a downtempo, lascivious collaboration with the guy you go to when you want to maximize your lasciviousness levels, Ty Dolla $ign.
This ode to monogamy and “bad bitch[es] who ride passenger” comes hot on the heels of last year’s deadly-infectious “Playa No More” (featuring a unusually romantic, well-tuned Quavo and NYC up-and-comer A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie) and “Selfish,” a celebration of righteous jealousy which currently boasts 25 million plays on Soundcloud.
If PnB Rock continues to pick records as intelligently as he has thus far, Goin Thru the Motions could be one of the strongest R&B breakout projects of this year.
