Ahead of the release of their 16th studio album Oczy Mlody, due January 13, the Flaming Lips have released a fourth advance track from the album. “We Are Famly” features their Dead Petz collaborator and most notorious associate Miley Cyrus, and begins as standard-issue, Lips-ian psych-pop before the band introduces a punishing sub-bass. Miley serves as a dialed-in feature on the chant-along chorus of “Weeee a Faaamly,” before taking over from Wayne to murmur a second verse. Despite how ridiculous this all might sound, it’s not the worst song in the world.
