We’ve been teased for a year about the strange looking new British TV show “Urban Myths,” which stars Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson. When the news first broke about the series, social media erupted with frustration over the casting decision and offered even worse suggestions. In an interview following the announcement, Fiennes tried to deflect the backlash by telling Entertainment Tonight “[Jackson] was probably closer to my color than his original color.”
Besides having a white man play the legendary black performer, the show looks like it’s focusing on some truly uncomfortable stories … including one about Adolf Hitler and his painting hobby. The series will feature eight 30-minute one-off episodes about different celebrity “urban myths.” Watch the newly released trailer, which features Fiennes as an effete Jackson skipping through the woods:
