Top Dawg Entertainment third-in-command Ab-Soul brings the wickedness in his video for “RAW (backwards),” an immediate attention-grabber from his new album, Do What Thou Wilt, released this past Friday. It’s dimly lit by spotlight, featuring Soulo performing to a raucous crowd from the bed of a pickup truck, cultivating modes both sinister and playful. There’s a fierce drummer and head-banging guitarist (straight outta Papa Roach) in there with him too; this song breaks out into sections of rock bravado, like Soul is leading the 2016 equivalent of Body Count.
