Two days after George Michael’s death, the pop star’s boyfriend has revealed that he discovered the body early Christmas morning and that Michael died alone in his Oxfordshire home.
Fadi Fawaz, a celebrity hairdresser who has been in a relationship with Michael for five years, told the Daily Telegraph that he had holiday plans with the former Wham! singer.
“We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch,” he said. “I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed. We don’t know what happened yet. Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I.”
“Now everything is ruined,” he added. “I want people to remember him the way he was – he was a beautiful person.”
Fawaz also tweeted about Michael’s death.

Esther Rantzen, the founder of children’s charity Childline, said Michael has secretly given millions of pounds to her organization.
“For years now he has been the most extraordinarily generous philanthropist, giving money to Childline, but he was determined not to make his generosity public, so no one outside the charity knew how much he gave to the nation’s most vulnerable children,” she told the Press Association. “Over the years he gave us millions.”
According to Michael’s manager, Michael Lipman, the singer died from heart failure. He was 53.
