Desiigner’s Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance today came alongside worse news for the Brooklyn rapper: According to TMZ, he’s being sued for over $500,000 for allegedly crashing a rental of a 2014 Ferrari this past June.

Court documents specify that Desiigner himself crashed the car in New Jersey, though it had been rented in the names of two of his friends. The company is suing not only for the estimated value of the Ferrari—approximately $220,000—but for additional rental income they have missed out on thanks to Desiigner’s dust-up. A tweet which may or may not have been written by Desiigner is cited in the court documents as incriminating evidence: “If you have a luxury car you better know how to drive.”

Desiigner was charged with other car-related transgressions back in September, when he allegedly threatened another driver with a gun in an apparent road rage incident. After a search of his SUV, the “Panda” star was hit with felony counts for criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of drugs, charge of criminal possession of a loaded weapon, and menacing. The gun charge was quickly dropped, and eventually, all of the remaining drug charges were dropped as well.
