It’s been a huge year for actor and musician Donald Glover, with the success of his FX series Atlanta, his casting in an upcoming Star Wars spinoff, and now the release of his third full-length album as Childish Gambino, “Awaken, My Love!” Unlike Glover’s past endeavors in hip-hop, “Awaken, My Love!” is 11 tracks of idiosyncratic soul/funk/R&B grooves. The slinky, screwy, Prince-indebted funk of “Redbone” is an early standout.
