Kaytranada’s debut album, 99.9%, proved he was an excellent producer, but he hasn’t stopped dropping great remixes. After putting his stamp on Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky” and Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better,” Kay decided to remix Afrika Bambaataa’s “Planet Rock.” This is the first remotely good Bambaataa-related news since April’s disturbing child molestation allegations disgraced the hip-hop legend, as well as the Zulu Nation he founded.

Instead of adding his signature effervescence, Kaytranada hits “Planet Rock” with a minimalistic approach, shaving off the Kraftwerk sample while saturating the bounce. Listen to the remix below.
