Justin Bieber Settles Paparazzi Lawsuit Over Alleged Subway Beatdown

Grouchy pop star Justin Bieber has settled a lawsuit with a photographer who claims one of singer’s bodyguards assaulted him in two years ago in a Subway sandwich shop.

In 2014, photographer Michael Munoz said one of Bieber’s bodyguards chased him into a Subway after Munoz took a photo of the then 20-year-old leaving a Miami nightclub. The bodyguard, Dwayne Patterson, then allegedly locked the door to the restaurant, punched and kicked Munoz, and demanded that photographer delete the pictures of Bieber from his camera. Munoz eventually sued Bieber for negligence for failing to stop the alleged attack, and he sued Patterson for false imprisonment, battery and negligent retention.

Billboard reports the lawsuit was settled only after a judge threatened Bieber with arrest if he continued to ignore court requests that he make himself available for a deposition. The terms of the settlement were not released.

Bieber is currently on tour in Europe, where he’s kept busy by telling his fans to shut up.
