Green Day’s 12th(!) album, Revolution Radio, is out today, and the promotional campaign is in full swing. The Rock Hall inductees are currently on tour, and last night, they crashed The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform “Bang Bang,” the lead single from their new record.
If you’re not all that familiar with the track—Green Day aren’t getting the airplay they once did—then Thursday night’s performance is about as good a case as you’re going to get for the track. The performance was tight, punchy, and pretty light on apocalyptic grandiosity. Best of all, the chorus sounded sharper than it did when the song first dropped a couple of months back.
