He’s recently been enjoying praise for Yes Lawd!, his collaboration with producer Knxwledge, but today, .Paak unveiled a new video for “Come Down,” a straight-ahead-funk highlight from January’s Malibu.
Speaking with Complex about the live-performance-based clip, the L.A. rapper/singer specified that he was emulating the aesthetic of some of his favorite soul album covers. (Indeed, we can see what he means about the Marvin Gaye’s I Want You art.) Watch the playful, chaotic clip below.
