Singer Pete Burns died this past Sunday after going into massive cardiac arrest. His management confirmed his death on his Twitter account. Burns was 57 years old.

Burns rose to fame as the lead singer of Dead or Alive, a new wave/synthpop group best known for their 1984 hit, “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record).” Although the band hasn’t released an album since 2000’s Fragile, Burns recently achieved renewed relevance thanks to his 2006 appearance on Celebrity Big Brother and his surgically enhanced androgynous appearance. Burns’s last single, “Never Marry an Icon,” was released in 2010.
