New Music: Jlin Remixes Factory Floor’s “Wave”

For the remix to their 25 25 track “Wave,” the post-industrial tinkerers in Factory Floor have enlisted Jlin, whose forward-thinking footwork album Dark Energy was one of 2015’s most beguiling releases.

Factory Floor and Jlin are far from genre peers, but the pairing makes a lot of sense, as both acts wring thrills from cold, mechanical, and sometimes alienating sounds. For “Wave,” Jlin breaks up Factory Floor’s standard four-on-the-floor pulse in favor of her more fractured approach to rhythm. Listen below.
