Electronic dancehall music outfit Major Lazer will release new music in January 2017, Diplo announced today in a tweet. Replying to a fan who asked about a song in the producer’s Snapchat story, Diplo indicated that it was a new, as-yet-unheard track from a forthcoming Major Lazer project. Major Lazer’s last album was Peace Is the Mission, released in June 2015. In a old interview just prior to the release of Mission, the group’s Walshy Fire said a second album called Love Is the Weapon would arrive later in 2015 or early in 2016. That timeline didn’t happen, but it now appears that Love Is the Weapon is on for January. The album is expected to include the Justin Bieber- and Mø-featuring hit “Cold Water,” as well as “Believer,” Major Lazer’s song with Showtek. Weapon is rumored to include features from PARTYNEXTDOOR, Sia, the Weeknd, Travis Scott, Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello, and Bonnie McKee.

This weekend is also Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. To mark the holiday, Major Lazer shared a “Diwali Edition” of “Cold Water” remixed by Indian producer Anirudh Ravichander, who’s best known as a film composer. Listen to Ravichander’s version of “Cold Water” below.
