On Halloween, Metallica will debut “Atlas, Rise!,” the third single from their forthcoming new album Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. To promote the single, Metallica is sending an unspecified number of Halloween masks to independent record stores around the world. The masks, which will be available starting this Friday, October 28, will each contain a special code that provides early access to the song.
If you’re lucky enough to get one of the masks and codes, you’ll be able to hear “Atlas, Rise!”…30 minutes before it debuts on the radio at noon PDT. That’s, uh, not the best deal, but at least you’ll probably get to keep the mask. Here’s a list of participating record stores.
Hardwired…To Self-Destruct will be out November 18. Watch the video for the album’s second single, “Moth Into Flame,” below.
