Joanna Newsom‘s excellent 2015 album Divers turns one year old today, and record label Drag City has a nice surprise: “Make Hay,” an unreleased outtake from the Divers sessions. “We wish you a happy first AnniDIVERSary!” the label wrote. “‘Make Hay’ is for the divers and the delvers to divine—is it just another piece or the missing one? Only (your) time will tell.”
Dive and delve into the lovely, pastoral tune below. Just don’t look for this one (or, indeed, any of Divers) on your paid music streaming service—Newsom and Drag City share an strong distaste for the likes of Spotify and Apple Music.
