Green Day Play “Why Do You Want Him?” Live for the First Time in 15 Years

Green Day released their 12th LP Revolution Radio last Friday. As part of a celebratory tour, the 40-something punk legends played “Why Do You Want Him?” during their Friday show at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade. This isn’t Green Day’s biggest song, but it was the first time they have performed the song in 15 years.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong excited the audience by noting that “Why Do You Want Him?”–which first appeared on their EP, Slappy–is the first song Green Day ever wrote. Watch the performance unfold below.
