On Thursday, Animal Collective realized that their Friday night show at Union Hall in Edmonton, Canada was restricted to ages 18 and over. “We tried to find another venue but nothing else could work,” the band wrote on Twitter, apologizing and offering refunds to underage ticketholders. Young fans Savanna and Cameron responded, and were invited to their very own private pre-show.

Bummed to say we just found out from the venue in Edmonton that they’re unable to get a permit to allow kids under 18 into Fri’s show.

We tried to find another venue but nothing else could work. If you’re under 18 & have tix, refunds are available at point of purchase.
