American football season is more special this year because it’s also American Football season. The beloved emo band is releasing their first album in 17 years on October 21 and have already released two tracks from the upcoming effort. The latest track to appear from the LP, the romantic and melancholy “Desire Gets in the Way,” has just premiered on GQ. The accompanying interview with frontman Mike Kinsella touches on his feelings on Frank Ocean (“My wife likes it”), the term “emo” (“I don’t care”), and how he’s grown since American Football’s debut (“I don’t feel like the same human”).
