Green Day Are “Still Breathing” on New Song, At Least

Green Day are preparing the October 7 release of  Revolution Radio, their 12th studio album (that’s counting 2012’s ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré! as three). Today brings a lyric video for new single “Still Breathing,” a paint-by-numbers pop-punk song about weathering some clichéd hardships: losing a parent, feeling like you’ve dodged a bullet. Sometimes overcoming personal challenges and tragedies leads to heartbreaking lyrical insight, and sometimes it leads to “Still Breathing.”

The latest Revolution Radio cut follows up “Bang Bang” and the title track. It does get better if you avert your gaze from the unremarkable animation. Close your eyes and hit play below.
