Bruce Springsteen appeared on CBS Sunday Morning today to talk about his career and forthcoming memoir, Born to Run. Accompanied by anchor Anthony Mason, Springsteen visited his old hometown of Freehold, New Jersey and his childhood school. The Boss also discussed his relationships with his father and the late E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons, his personal struggle with depression, and his recent four-hour marathon concerts.
On the same episode, Mason sat down with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and director Ron Howard to talk about the new documentary Eight Days a Week: The Touring Years. The former Beatles discussed life on the road during their meteoric rise and their final concert at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park in 1966.
Springsteen’s new memoir arrives September 27 from Simon & Schuster. It’s available for pre-order on Amazon. Eight Days a Week: The Touring Years is now showing in select theaters and on Hulu (subscribers only). Watch Springsteen, McCartney, and Starr’s CBS Sunday Morning appearances below.
