There’s a Ska Version of Neutral Milk Hotel’s ‘In the Aeroplane Over the Sea’ That No One Asked For

“All right — we’re here today to honor Jeff Mangum the only way I know how. The power of ska,” Skanktral Ska Hotel pant on their ska tribute to Neutral Milk Hotel‘s indie-rock opus, 1998’s In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. We can think of about 20,000 better ways to pay tribute to the band’s classic sophomore album, especially since Skanktral Ska Hotel are definitely no Slackers (the New York duo can barely sing, let alone toot their horns).

But you’ve gotta respect their pun power: In the Aeroskank Over the Checkered Pattern has turned “Holland, 1945” into “Skallond, 1945,” “Two Headed Boy” is now “Rude Headed Boy,” and so on. Listen below via Bandcamp if you absolutely must. (h/t Noisey)
