Top Dawg Entertainment has had a pretty successful 2016 with Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered. and ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP cementing them as one of hip-hop’s strongest cliques. People are still waiting for a new project from Isaiah Rashad, who hasn’t released a new song since January’s “Smile” or a new project since 2014’s Cilvia Demo. Rashad briefly broke his silence by releasing the woozy, ‘Lac-with-the-top-down cut “Free Lunch,” which is available below via Apple Music.
Earlier this year, TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith released a schedule that hinted at 2016 releases for the label’s roster. Rashad was one of them. There’s no concrete confirmation on when his LP comes out, but Tiffith send a tweet over that weekend that simply said “09.02.16 #TDE.” Hmmm…
