Britney Spears Sounds More Awake Than Usual on ‘Make Me’

Pop monarch Britney Spears appears to have dusted herself off just fine from the Iggy Azalea disaster of last summer with a slick new single, “Make Me.” Featuring a guest verse from G-Eazy, “Make Me” never really moves past the mid-tempo mark, but Spears oscillates nicely between rapid, heavily enunciated verses and soulful crescendos of “Make me oooh, oooh, oooh.” This marks the first taste of Spears’ forthcoming ninth studio album.
