Mac Miller Collaborates with Anderson .Paak on ‘Dang!’ and Announces New Album

In the latest premiere to arrive from Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, Mac Miller and Anderson .Paak have connected for the dreamy “Dang!” The new song finds Miller adroitly rhyming with .Paak’s addictive mix of funk and palatable groove. Miller also told Lowe that he brought in students from New York’s prestigious Juilliard School to play horns.

The team-up comes from artists at two different career intersections. Anderson .Paak was a slept-on act not that long ago, but after landing six guest spots on Dr. Dre’s 2015 album Compton, releasing his excellent third album Malibuand putting on some superb live performances, he’s ascendant. Mac Miller, whose own third album GO:OD AM dropped last fall, canceled multiple tour dates recently because of health concerns.

But Miller has bounced back: He told Lowe he’s working on a new album called The Divine Feminine that’s dropping in September and features Kendrick Lamar, CeeLo Green, and Robert Glasper. For now, listen to “Dang!” below.
