Amy Klein Strums Our Heartstrings in ‘Valerie’ Video

Her solo album 'Fire' is out now

New Jersey’s Amy Klein (formerly of Titus Andronicus and Hilly Eye) has a knack for loud but poignant songwriting, and her new video for “Valerie” hits those very same notes. Directed by Noe Kidder, the lo-fi, non-linear clip stars Klein and a friend, Felicia Heng. Their characters seem aware of one another, they don’t quite meet until Klein sings, “Valerie, we will never be at peace / But I, I’ll walk you home at least.” True to her tristate-area roots, the scene appears to take place at New York’s Verrazano Bridge.

“Valerie” arrives in support of Klein’s new solo record, Fire, out now from Don Giovanni. Watch the video below, and stream the full album via the label’s YouTube here.
