The Weeknd and Belly Pull Out of ‘Kimmel’ Performance Due to Trump Presence
Belly: "I just didn't want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don't agree with."
Pop star The Weeknd and rapper Belly canceled their recent late night gig on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, thanks the presence of another guest on the show: Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump. The two declined to perform their collaborative hit “Might Not” because, according to a statement made by Belly to the AP, “I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race… I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with.”
Jazz singer/songwriter Gregory Porter performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night instead.
