Mac DeMarco Pays Tribute to Prince By Covering ‘It’s Gonna Be Lonely’

Mac DeMarco teased a cover of Prince’s “It’s Gonna Be Lonely” on Instagram last week, and now the weird-rock musician has premiered the full clip of his homage to the Purple One via Pitchfork. It’s a weird, quirky little tribute with bandmate Jon Lent to Prince’s lasting legacy, and it’s entirely in DeMarco’s increasingly multidimensional wheelhouse. Watch below.
