Ben Folds Brought Kesha Onstage Last Night for a Three-Song Set
Including the Bob Dylan tribute she'd planned for the Billboard Music Awards
After the Billboard Music Awards announced that Kesha would likely no longer perform at this weekend’s ceremony due to Dr. Luke’s revocation of his approval to let her do so, the pop star found an unlikely ally in Ben Folds, who brought Kesha onstage during his Los Angeles concert last night to perform with him.
In addition to Kesha’s Billboard-intended performance of Bob Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe,” the pair also performed Folds’ own songs “Still Fighting It” and “Rock This Bitch.” The latter of those two, Pitchfork points out, wrapped in a bit of Kesha’s 2010 hit “Sleazy,” which Dr. Luke produced.
Watch videos of all those performances below. After the show, Kesha uploaded an Instagram thanking Folds for allowing her to sing with him onstage; that’s below too.
