Kendrick Lamar Drops Impressive Guest Verse on Mistah F.A.B.’s ‘Survive’

Chance the Rapper’s new Coloring Book had a few reconsidering who’s the best working rapper last night, but there’s already been a reminder that Kendrick Lamar is an obvious No. 1 contender. West Coast legend Mistah F.A.B. brought Lamar, Crooked I, and Chicago singer Kobe Honeycutt as guests on “Survive,” a single that focuses on the cruelties of the streets come nightfall.

Lamar wastes little time bringing visceral imagery into his verse: “You ever been a victim of being a prisoner inside your own mind?/ The bright lights of the streetlights will make you go blind.”

“Survive” is slated to appear on Mistah F.A.B.’s upcoming album Son of a Pimp 2, which drops May 27.
