Last month, Showtime announced that they were working on a Nick Broomfield-directed Whitney Houston documentary simply called Whitney. The late singer’s family claimed “no involvement” in the film. Now, though, Academy Award-winning director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, One Day in September) has been tapped to head up the first authorized Whitney Houston documentary. According to Variety, the doc will feature an interview with Arista Records founder Clive Davis, “never-before-seen footage of Whitney,” and “three decades of her music including exclusive demo recordings, rare performances and audio archive.”
