“Let’s take the long way home / Let’s throw away our phones,” sings Jordan Lee on his newest single as Mutual Benefit. “Lost Dreamers” is not a love song, but a song in love: one that revels in its warmth and enjoyably disorienting power. It’s a song that recognizes love as not simply an emotion, but an invitation into the unknown – an invitation to become a “lost dreamer” – and although Lee can see that it holds the potential for danger, he can’t help but continue to sing. Backed by orchestral strings and buoyant marimba, he’s optimistic and taking pleasure in the moment.

Lee’s fans are encouraged to share their dreams via the Lost Dreamers website: Whoever submits the winning entry will a test pressing, limited edition splatter grey-blue LP, an original tour photo and a dream journal. Eventually, a group of dreams will be chosen by Lee and visually recreated by a select group of artists, resulting in an animated Mutual Benefit dream journal.
