Magic Potion Find Soft Punk Nirvana With ‘Cola Boyys’

Off of the forthcoming 'Pink Gum', due May 27 via PNKSLM

Magic Potion, the Stockholm four-piece, made their debut with last year’s Melt EP, four tracks of driving, melodic jamming. After taking the year to record in their hometown, the band is back with their much-anticipated debut album Pink Gum. The work’s lead single “Milk” promised signature grit with a light, beachy twist— a vibe that its follow up, “Cola Boyys,” delivers in full. The latest single is a necessary warm-weather anthem in every sense, featuring boundlessly buoyant percussion and buzzing chords. Lead singer Gustaf Montelius makes the everyday punk subject matter feel fresh again, cooing: “Had a nosebleed, on your skateboard / Fried our brains out, in the sun.”
